Genomic selection

VikingGenetics uses genomic selection in selecting the very best bull dams and bull calves. GenVik this method is called which we have developed in co-operation with Aarhus University.

By using GenVik we are able to:

·        Increase genetic progress in all traits of the NTM index

·        Increase reliability significantly – especially with respect to health traits, fertility and calving ability

·        Supply young sires of even higher genetic quality
