Genomic selection

VikingGenetics use genomic selection in selecting the very best bull dams and bull calves. We call it GenVik and it is developed in cooperation with Aarhus University. By using GenVik we can:

·         Increase the genetic progress on all traits in the NTM

·         Increase the reliability significantly – especially on health traits, fertility and calving ability

·         Offer young sires of even higher genetic quality
